Tawsen is taking his music ambitions to an international stage. The Moroccan-Belgian artist has entered the 2027 Grammy Awards consideration process with two works, his album Chokran and the track “Zid Sawt”, marking another step in his growing international journey.
Tawsen’s album Chokran has been submitted for consideration in the Global Music Album category, while “Zid Sawt” is being considered in the Global Music Performance category. The two entries highlight different aspects of the artist’s work, from a full-length project to an individual performance.
Released in June 2026, Chokran marked Tawsen’s return with his debut studio album after a two-year break from releasing new music. The 15-track project explores his musical identity through a blend of Moroccan and wider Arab influences with contemporary sounds. “Zid Sawt” is among the tracks featured on the album.
The move comes as Tawsen continues to build an international audience, with more than 2.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify reported in October 2026. His music reflects a mix of cultural and musical influences, connecting his Moroccan roots with a broader contemporary sound.
It is important to note that submission for Grammy consideration is not the same as an official nomination. The Recording Academy’s voting process determines which entries advance to the final nominees list, scheduled to be announced on November 16, 2026.
For Tawsen, the submissions represent a new milestone in his career and bring further attention to an artist continuing to expand his reach beyond borders.
